Nautical Santa Ornament, made by our hands in Mystic, Connecticut. A red monkey fist for his body, a little white one for his head, and a beard that means business. He's borrowed a hat from our snowman's wardrobe and found himself some boots.
American cotton cord · About 3 1/2 inches tall · Weighs about 2 ounces
Santa came out of a day of trying knots in the workshop. Someone suggested him, and the crew took it from there. Now he's ready for a Christmas tree by the water, or one that just wishes it were.
The monkey fist is familiar ropework aboard a boat. Here it gets a red suit and a different job for December. We use a larger red knot for the body and a smaller white knot for the head.
At about two ounces, he's made to hang on the tree. Put him beside a nautical snowman and let the pair bring a little of the waterfront home for Christmas.
