The Free Men of the Sea tried to take over our fine town of Mystic last weekend.
Matt embedded himself in with the pirates and reported their moves, while Jill tried to blend in with the populace to document their hi jinks.
Saturday, they traveled from bar to restaurant, restaurant to bar, staggering, laughing and singing shanties and telling tales.
The bridge keeper, Rod, was bribed to open the draw bridge and allow the pirates enough time to land. Blood boiling screams and threats struck less fear than the cannon and shot used to create a breach head for the pirates to invade.
Sunday, fresh from a day of poker and potables, they took the knowledge of town and attacked.
Hostages were taken, and the pirate costumes were reviewed by the Captain and crew.
The small pirates scavenged the town and loaded up their sacks with booty from area shops. The captain was able to smuggle them all pirate maps to know where the best treasures were kept.
Mystic Knotwork teamed with the Florence Griswold Museum. They installed a Kraken outside the shop along with a green skiff. Pirates were seen using the small craft to escape the octopus demon of the deep for the safety of the crew.
Finally, after too much fun was being had, the forces of chaos were repulsed by the Lebanon Militia restoring peace and boredom to our gentle community. The Captain and his mates promise to be back next year, so be prepared.
If you missed our amazing invasion, the same pirates are exploring the state and I heard they will be invading The Florence Griswold Museum on October 19, 2019.
