Sailor Knot Hair Stick Barrette
Our Sailor Knot Hair Stick Barrette is a traditional Turk's head knot tied in miniature. If the knot looks familiar, it should. It's the same knot we use for our sailor knot coasters, just tied smaller and paired with a hardwood stick to hold your hair in place.
Made with 100% cotton hard laid cord, the knot measures about 3 1/2 inches across. The hardwood stick is about 6 inches long. We make the barrettes in 17 different colors.
We've been tying knots in Mystic, Connecticut, since 1957. The Turk's head has always been one of the knots we use most. Change the size of the cord and how we tie it, and the same knot can become a bracelet, coaster, trivet or, in this case, a barrette.
